Effleurage

Effleurage is an extremely light touch. It refers to a series of soothing, stroking movements used at the beginning and the end of the body massage. It is also used as a linking move between the different strokes and movements.

Effleurage can be firm or light without dragging the skin and is performed using either the padded parts of the finger tips or the palmar surface of the hands, and works as a mechanical pump on the body to encourage venous and lymphatic return. It consists of four sub-categories:

1. Ethereal or aura strokes
2. Feathering, or nerve-stroking
3. Superficial effleurage
4. Deeper effleurage

It relaxes and creates a tingly sensation on the skin and in the muscles.

Esalen Style

This approach combines classic Swedish massage with sensory awareness practice and slow, flowing t'ai chi. We work with you throughout the session to release tightness and energy blockage.

Esalen massage is non-erotic and promotes healing and well being through deep tissue approaches, joint mobilizing, stretches, and energy work. Tension melts away and yields to a state of harmony and bliss.

Swedish

Swedish massage is a vigorous system of treatment designed to energize your body by stimulating circulation. We use five basic strokes, all flowing toward the heart. These are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body.

You remove your clothing and are covered by a sheet or large towel, with only the area being worked on exposed.

We use a special combination of kneading, rolling, vibrational, percussive, and tapping movements, with the application of oils and creams, to reduce friction on the skin. Swedish massage leads to relaxation and improved circulation.

This is your medium pressure massage. This technique combines light and medium pressure with a deeper pressure applied to the large muscle groups.

Deep Tissue

This is for muscles that have pain or for clients that like a very deep pressure. You can expect it to be vigorous and stimulating. It is helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.

The movement is slow and deliberate. The pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain. Your practitioner will often spend an hour or more on a specific region of the body to encourage relief. This is deeply therapeutic.

Lomilomi

This system of massage uses very large, broad movements that sweep across your body, simulating ocean waves. Our tools include two-handed, forearm, and elbow application of strokes.

We incorporate many aspects of Reiki in our channeling of energy, focused breathing and movements designed to facilitate physical and mental well-being.

Lomilomi celebrates the connection between heart, hand, and soul with the source of all life. Custom blended oils are liberally applied to make the movements fluid and rejuvenating while we use cross-fiber friction techniques to whisk away pain and discomfort.

Couples Massage (includes flowers & chocolates)

Traditional Couples Massage : You and your significant other enjoy massage simultaneously in the same room. In this version of couples massage, we use two massage tables and two massage specialists.

60 minutes: $150

Non Traditional Couples Massage : You and your significant other get to share the session of your choice. Instead of two practitioners, you get to enjoy the touch of your partner and the touch of a single massage specialist.

You can alternate half way through or dedicate the entire session to just massaging one person. It becomes a remarkable 4-hand massage as you and the therapist massage your partner/loved one the entire time! Loads of fun, this is an awesome gift & perfect year-round!!

4 Hand Massage

Have all of the benefits of massage doubled with two massage practitioners relaxing you for as long as you like! If you think ten fingers is a great experience, wait till you feel 20 fingers massaging you professionally and thoroughly! If you have a preference, we can schedule your session with a male/female team or with two male massage experts.
